Seckin Kara


Part of the Class of 2019, Seckin is studying mathematics, Spanish, and premedicine.

An avid member of his high school's speech and debate team since 2012, he went on to become a semifinalist in International Extemporaneous Speaking in the National Speech and Debate Association's 2015 National Championships. He has been a member of the Penn State Speech & Debate Society since September 2015 and was awarded first place in Impromptu Speaking and third place in After Dinner Speaking at the 2016 PFA State tournament. He was also recognized as the runner-up for Best Speaker at the 2016 NASA Astrobiology Debates.

Besides speech and debate, Seckin is an officer on the Penn State Quiz Bowl team. He plays piano as part of the music collective 405 Messages and as a solo artist and has been known to drop quite a dank meme on occasion.
